Head lice are tiny insects that live and breed on the human scalp and in hair. While they do not carry or transmit disease, lice can cause itchiness. Common in school-aged children, head lice are mainly transmitted by head-to-head contact but can also be spread through the sharing of personal articles.
Head lice treatment and combs are available for sale from Council’s 111 Brown Street and 1 Market Place, Hamilton offices. Discounts are offered to health care card holders.
