Cr Greg McAdam was born and educated in Geelong and has been married to his wife Jan for 42 years and they have three children and five grandchildren.
Greg has been a farmer (wool/prime lambs, beef cattle) at Mooralla for 43 years, and during that time has taken on many short term jobs, including truck driver, plant operator, stockman, shearer, wool classer, group supervisor for New Work Opportunity Scheme, sessional teacher for SW Tafe (fencing and chainsaw operation), and agricultural contractor.
A National serviceman for Royal Australian Engineers for two years, Greg has also been involved in a number of voluntary, community and service organisations for many years. These include CFA for 50 years, Lions International for 31 years and Cabinet Chair for 10 years, Cavendish Cricket Club for 35 years (life member), Hon Director and Company Secretary of CavCom Properties P/L. Most of these are at executive or committee level, which he believes provides knowledge and experience to effectively serve as a councillor.
Greg’s aims and priorities include sound economic management, improving shire roads, completing saleyards project, helping bring new abattoir into being, zoning for more business, promoting tourism and supporting volunteer, service and sporting organisations wherever possible.
