2018 Southern Grampians Shire Australia Day Awards

Nominations are Now Open

Southern Grampians Shire Council is encouraging residents to take the opportunity to acknowledge community effort, participation and contribution through nominating residents for a Southern Grampians Shire Australia Day Award.

Nominations are invited in the categories of Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year.

Nominations are also sought for the Shire's Community Recognition Awards, which seek to acknowledge outstanding contributions to the community by an individual.

To be eligible for the Citizen of the Year Award, nominated persons must be 25 years or older on 26 January 2018 whilst nominees for the Young Citizen of the Year Award must be under 25 years of age on 26 January 2018. Age restrictions do not apply to the Community Event of the Year or Council’s own Community Recognition Awards.

Nomination forms are available below. Digitally submitted forms are preferred, but you can also pick up a hard copy from the Council’s Brown Street Business Centre, 111 Brown Street Hamilton, Council’s Market Place Business Centre, 1 Market Place Hamilton, or the Hamilton Visitor Information Centre.

Completed nominations forms should be forwarded to AusDay@sthgrampians.vic.gov.au or to Southern Grampians Shire Council, Locked Bag 685, Hamilton, VIC 3300.

Preparations for the 2018 Australia Day celebrations have commenced with further details available closer to the day.
