Other Recyclables

Some materials may be recyclable but not through the kerbside system, and therefore should not be placed in your recycling collection bin. These items must be dropped off at the correct location.

Some recycling schemes are supported by Government or through industry, and others work on a user-pays basis. Fees may apply.

To find out which materials can be recycled and where you can drop them off, refer to the listing below.

Materials Locations
Small Batteries (alkaline, lithium) Drop off at Aldi supermarkets. No charge.
Mobile phones Drop into Mobile Muster bins at Telstra, Optus stores, or get a reply-paid postage satchel from any Australia Post outlet. No charge.
Printer cartridges Drop into Planet Ark boxes at Harvey Norman, or Australia Post outlets in Coleraine, Penshurst or Hamilton. No charge.
Fluorescent tubes These are accepted at all Southern Grampians Shire Transfer Stations


Cardboard
If you have large quantities of cardboard to be disposed of at our regional transfer stations, we ask that you please flatten the material for stacking in the storage shed.
