Register now for Chem Clear Collection

ChemClear collection is coming to the Hamilton Transfer Station in 2020.

Farmers and other users of Agvet chemicals in the Southern Grampians Shire will soon have an opportunity to dispose of any unwanted farm chemicals safely at the ChemClear collection at the Hamilton Transfer Station. ChemClear is a not-for-profit chemical collection and disposal service for unwanted and unknown agricultural and veterinary chemicals.

The date of the Hamilton collection is yet to be confirmed but the event will be scheduled in February or March 2020. To get involved, farmers should register their chemical details on the ChemClear website before 30 November.

Correct collection and disposal of these chemicals minimises the impact on the environment and human health so district farmers are encouraged to take advantage of the service.

Chemclear provides free collection of chemicals:
• With readable labels
• Still in original containers
• Not mixed with other products
• Within two years of expiry or deregistration

There may be a fee for service available for other Agvet chemicals.

Further information about the ChemClear program is available on the website http://www.chemclear.org.au/ or by contacting Southern Grampians Shire Council on 5573 0444.
