The project, identified through Council’s 2022 Youth Survey and further engagement with Hamilton Skate Park users in 2023, was funded in the 2023/24 budget. Design works to develop a vision for the upgrade of the entire Skate Park precinct have taken place over 2024, with a staged rollout to commence with the pump track installation.

The fibreglass track will be installed on a compacted base, providing 64 metres of a looped track for pump-circuit enthusiasts.

The track will enhance local recreation facilities, complimenting the Hamilton Skate Park to create a fun, social hub for young people and families to enjoy.

Construction will be managed to minimise disruptions to the skate park, with the majority of work contained to the designated area next to the park. Works will include:

  • Site preparation (cut and fill)
  • Drainage works
  • Construction of a retaining wall to integrate the track with its surroundings
  • Pouring the slab for a smooth foundation
  • Creation of the footpath for easy access and safety.
  • Installation of new fibre-glass track
