Council is actively planning to build a nature-based play space inclusive and accessible for all ages and abilities.
The proposed play space will recognise the natural, geographical and cultural landscape of the gardens. It will also showcase the zoological historical elements of the gardens and be respectful to William Guilfoyle's design principles.
The design concept was adopted by council in 2021 after a period of extensive community consultation, including the Friends of Hamilton Botanic Gardens, Heritage Victoria and AborSafe.
The project will reflect the Hamilton Botanic Garden Masterplan(PDF, 14MB) .
