Installation Begins on Hamilton Pump Track
Published on 06 February 2025
Exciting news for local riders! The long-awaited pump track at the Hamilton Skate Park is about to take shape, adding a dynamic new space for BMX, skateboard, scooter, and balance-bike riders.
Designed with input from local youth and riding enthusiasts, the pump track will complement the existing skate park, creating a vibrant, social hub for young people and families to enjoy.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dennis Heslin, said this project is an investment in the community’s future.
“Our young people have told us loud and clear that they want more recreation spaces, and we’re listening. This pump track is more than just a new facility—it’s a place where friendships will be made, skills will be built, and lifelong memories will form. We’re committed to making our region a great place to live, work, and play.”
Construction is being managed to minimise disruption to the skate park.
Works completed so far include:
- Site preparation (cut and fill)
- Drainage improvements for longevity and safety
- A retaining wall to integrate the track seamlessly into its surroundings
- A smooth concrete foundation for durability
- New footpaths to improve accessibility and connection within the site
Now, it’s time for the final stage—the installation of the track itself.
Work will begin on 10 February 2025 and is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
The pump track reflects Council’s commitment to providing inclusive, engaging spaces where the community can stay active, social, and connected. Thank you for your patience as we deliver this exciting new resource.
