Go behind the scenes with Hamilton PAC
Published on 27 March 2024
The Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) are excited to announce a special opportunity for young people looking to develop their skills in sound, lighting and the technical side of putting on a show. They may have a passion for the stage, for behind the scenes, or an eye on a future in show business.
HPAC are offering the chance to go behind the scenes of a live show and delve into every aspect of production, from sound engineering to staging and lighting techniques.
Participants will learn what goes into bringing a production from the page to the stage. This event is suitable for people aged 15-25 years but is restricted to 10 places only.
Event Details
Date: 9 and 10 April
Time: 10am-3pm
Location: Hamilton Performing Arts Centre
These sessions are being provided for free by the knowledgeable staff at HPAC and are funded by the FreeZA program. Over the course of two days, 10 lucky young people will learn the craft of stage production, receiving truly hands-on experience and playing a pivotal role in setting the stage for the highly anticipated Emma Donovan Concert on 11 April at 7.30pm.
These participants will then receive free tickets to the show to see the final product they worked to bring to life.
“We’re very thankful to the staff of the Performing Arts Centre,” said Mayor Councillor David Robertson.
“This is not the kind of event that comes around often, and the right person will be able to get so much value out of this experience. The fact that this is being put on for free shows the dedication of the staff to their craft and their clear vision of spreading their passion, their experience and their art to the next generation.”
