Council is encouraging pet owners to register their cats and dogs by 10 April 2025, as part of responsible pet ownership. Registration is required for all cats and dogs over three months of age under the Domestic Animals Act 1994. If you have not received your renewal notice, please contact us on 55730444. Southern Grampians Shire Council conducts free immunisations for infants and school aged children as listed on the National Immunisation Program Schedule.
As a free public health service, Council is unable to facilitate requests to alter the National Immunisation Program Schedule. Indiviuals wishing to administer vaccines outside of the recommendations will need to consult with their own doctor for advice and administration of vaccines.
Childhood immunisations are scheduled at the following ages:
Birth
2 months (can be given from 6 weeks)
4 months
6 months
12 months
18 months
4 years
Students in secondary school are eligible for the following vaccines:
Year 7 students or age equivalent, 12-13 years of age:
single dose of Human Papillomavirus
single dose of Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (whooping cough)
Year 10 students or age equivalent:
single dose of Meningococcal ACWY vaccine
