For more than 30 years, Elder Rights Advocacy has helped older people, their families and representatives in Victoria with issues related to aged care services. In response to the growing demand for enhanced assistance to our older community members, Elder Rights Advocacy has recently expanded its Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS).
ACVVS brings older people receiving aged care together with caring volunteers for friendship and companionship. The visits improve the health and wellbeing of older Victorians who are experiencing social isolation.
Currently, Elder Rights Advocacy is actively seeking volunteers from across Victoria. They are looking for dedicated volunteers who can ideally commit to a 12-month period of visiting older individuals either in their homes, or within aged care facilities, on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Visits are relaxed and social, focusing on conversations and having fun together.
If you have any questions about this program or would like to be a part of it, please feel free to reach out to the ACVVS team on 1800 022 887 or via email at acvvs@era.asn.au
