Pools
Council owns and operates an indoor pool at Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) and outdoor swimming pools at Hamilton, Balmoral, Coleraine and Dunkeld (all heated) and Glenthompson and Penshurst (both unheated).
All outdoor swimming pools are open from December to the end of March, except Hamilton, which is open from November to the end of March.
It is FREE to swim at any of Council's outdoor pools.

Hours of Operation
Pools are open from 3:00pm to 7:00pm seven-days-a-week from December through till the last weekend in March, with Hamilton open from November through until the last weekend in March.
Pools will open from 12:00pm to 7:00pm when the air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology at 4:00pm for the next day is more than 35 degrees Celsius (weekends and all of January only).
Pools will be closed when the air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology at 4:00pm for the next day is less than:
- 23 degrees Celsius for all unheated pools.
- 21 degrees Celsius for all heated pools.
Note: The air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology will be specific to the location of the swimming pool.
Please monitor the Southern Grampians Shire Outdoor Swimming Pools Facebook for real-time updates. Outdoor pools will be closed on days rated as Code Catastrophic Fire Danger days.

Early Morning Swimming
There is supervised early morning swimming from 6:00am - 9:00am (Monday and Thursday) at the Hamilton outdoor pool from the start of November until the last weekend in March.
There is supervised early morning swimming at Coleraine outdoor pool from 6:30am - 8:30am (Tuesday and Friday) until the last weekend in March.
