Connect with Council to Win

5 April 2018

Southern Grampians Shire Council is giving you the chance to win an overseas holiday! Residents could be in the running to win a holiday to Fiji, New Caledonia or Thailand, simply by connecting with Council between now and Monday 6 August, 2018.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Shire Mayor Councillor Mary-Ann Brown said the competition was aimed at encouraging utilisation of the wide-range of Council services and programs available to residents.

“We want to see as many community members as possible touching base with Council and perhaps utilising services that they may not have in the past. We think it’s a great incentive and may give some people the kick along they’ve needed, to join the library, sign up for e-notices for rates, join the film club or register for the green waste program.

“We know there is a large cohort of the community whose interactions with Council are limited to simply paying rates or registering their dog and we want to increase that. Council received a holiday to give away as part of a regional television advertisement package and so we designed this competition to encourage people to connect with us, especially those who wouldn’t normally be inclined to do so,” Cr Brown said.

There are a number of ways that residents can enter the holiday giveaway:

  • Register for e-Notices to receive rates via email;
  • Become a new member of the Greater Hamilton Library;
  • Register for Council’s green waste service;
  • Renew or join HILAC as a full-usage 12-month member;
  • Join the Friends of the PAC;
  • Join the Film Club;
  • Attend a Council initiated community engagement session;
