Greater Grants - Supporting Southern Grampians communities

22 December 2021

Applications for the second round of Council’s Greater Grants Program for 2021/22 will open at 9:00am Tuesday 18 January 2022.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Bruach Colliton said now is the time for community groups and members to start thinking about the projects needing a financial boost, that have the potential to support local communities.

“With Greater Grants applications opening in mid-January, now is the perfect time for our community groups and individuals to really start thinking about what projects may be eligible for a Council grant. Potentially, these are projects that can help reconnect our communities after what has been another challenging year,” said Cr Colliton.

“Once again there will be a broad range of grant categories available including Community Infrastructure, Arts and Cultural Development, Community Strengthening, Tourism and Events, Environmental Sustainability, and Heritage.

“Our Greater Grants are always very popular so I encourage all community groups who have a project idea or initiative they may need financial assistance with to get in touch with our grants team directly as soon as possible to have a chat about eligibility requirements,” concluded Cr Colliton.

A wide variety of groups were awarded first round of Greater Grants funding for 2021/22 including:

• Cavendish Men’s Shed – Cavendish Men’s Shed Promotional Trailer
• Byaduk Spring Show Inc – Byaduk Spring Show

• The Scout Association of Australia, Victoria Branch, Hamilton Scouts – New Signage
• Dunkeld Community Centre – Sterling Place Eco Printer
