Be connected with the Greater Hamilton Library

11 February 2021

The Greater Hamilton Library is proud to partner with ‘Be Connected’, an Australia-wide government initiative empowering all Australians over 50 to thrive in a digital world. Being part of the Be Connected Network, the library can support you to develop your digital skills and confidence with its ‘Launch Pad’ program.

Older Australians who have less experience with using the internet can often feel isolated from their community and family at a time in their lives when feeling connected is increasingly important.

Through the Greater Hamilton Library’s “Launch Pad” program, eligible participants will have access to library iPads and be guided through courses and activities including:

• The basics of using an iPad device
• Creating and using an email account
• Introduction to Internet safety
• Using the Internet
• Downloading and using Apps
• Connecting with family and friends
• Video calling
• Introduction to social media

In addition to these classes, participants will have access a wide selection of online courses and activities on a range of topics through the Be Connected website.

The library will begin the “Launch Pad” program on Friday 19 February and classes will run from 1:30-3:30pm on Friday afternoons. Additional classes may be included if there is sufficient interest. Courses will take a month to complete with classes.

For full details of the program or to register your interest to attend, please contact the Greater Hamilton Library 5573 0470 or email library@sthgrampians.vic.gov.au.
