Community encouraged to share their vision for the future

Council will hold a series of workshops across the Southern Grampians Shire throughout February, as part of the process to develop the 2017-2021 Council Plan.

Council is required to prepare and adopt a Council plan prior to 30 June this year. The plan outlines the vision for the four year term of the Council and includes the objectives, strategies and actions which need to be implemented and undertaken to ensure this vision is realised.

Southern Grampians Shire Mayor Cr Mary-Ann Brown is encouraging all community members to attend the sessions and take the opportunity to have their say on the future of the Shire.

“We want to people to envisage the Southern Grampians in 2021. What does it look like? What makes it a great place to live and work? How do we get there? We want to invite all community members to come along and be a part of the plan for the future of this wonderful region we all call home” Cr Brown said.

Thursday 16 February
6.00pm | Coleraine Railway Tourist Information Centre
Monday 20 February

Thursday 23 February
4.00pm | Café Catalpa, Tarrington
6.30pm | Volcano Discovery Centre, Penshurst
Tuesday 28 February
4.00pm | Glenthompson Community Hall

Thursday 2 March
6.00pm | Wrap-Up and Feedback Session - Venue to be confirmed

The sessions are open to all and light refreshments will be provided.

Those who cannot attend one of the scheduled sessions are invited to participate and share their vision via the Council facebook page, by emailing sgs2021@sthgrampians.vic.gov.au or in writing, addressed to the Mayor or CEO.
