Library Winter School Holiday Program Is Here

The Greater Hamilton Library Winter School Holiday Program is out now with fun for all ages. The ever-popular movie-craft session is back featuring ‘Minions – The Rise of Gru’, Bee-Bot coding will cover simple coding techniques, Mr Snot-Bottom comedy will provide endless laughs, and Geeks and Games will have the bigger kids tech needs covered.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Senior Library Officer Jenny Poynton said the Library is pleased to once again offer Southern Grampians kids a unique experience these school holidays.

“We have another fantastic school holiday program lined up with sessions to suit all ages with some really fun and different activities. Bookings are essential so get in touch with our friendly Library team to secure your place.

“We encourage all our local families to take advantage of the incredible opportunities we have planned and visit the Library this winter break,” said Ms Poynton.

The winter program will begin Wednesday 29 June 2022, with the following activities on offer:

  • Movie Craft: ‘Minions-The Rise of Gru’. Kids can make their own figurine, followed by a showing of the movie at the Hamilton Cinema. 29 June 2022 (Recommended 6-12 years)

  • Bee-Bots: Introduce your kids to simple coding techniques using the fun and challenging bumble-bee robots. Guide your Bee-Bot through a series of buzzworthy challenges. 1 July 2022 (Recommended 5-8 years)

  • Comedy Show: Join comedian ‘Mr Snot-Bottom’ for tasteless tunes, gross-out gags and lots of laughs for weird kids and even weirder parents. 5 July 2022 (Recommended 5+ years)

  • Geeks and Games: A fun session with presentation League of Geeks Chair, Trent Kusters. Participants will have the opportunity to play Armello, a digital role-playing strategy board game, and enjoy a Minecraft ‘Create Your Own Mini Game’ session. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices to join the session. Oculus Quest virtual reality sessions will also be available throughout the day. 8 July 2022 (Recommended 12-18 years)
