Other Recyclables

Some materials may be recyclable but not through our salvaging centres, and therefore should not be placed in your recycling collection bin. Such items will need to be dropped off at different locations (namely businesses) that will handle the recycling for you.

To find out which materials will need to be recycled separately and where you can drop them off, refer to the listing below:

(Note: Some recycling schemes are supported by Government or through industry, and others on a user-pays basis. Fees may apply.)

Materials Locations
Small Batteries (alkaline, lithium) Drop off at Aldi supermarkets. No charge.
Mobile phones Drop into Mobile Muster bins at Telstra, Optus stores, or get a reply-paid postage satchel from any Australia Post outlet. No charge.
Printer cartridges Drop into Planet Ark boxes at Harvey Norman, or Australia Post outlets in Coleraine, Penshurst or Hamilton. No charge.
Plastic bags Drop into Coles or Woolworths supermarkets. No charge.
Fluorescent tubes Collection boxes are provided by council in all towns in the Shire. Currently free of charge, collection boxes can be found at:

Cardboard
If you would like to dispose large quantities of cardboard to our regional transfer stations, we ask that you please flatten the material for stacking in the storage shed.
